Sophie hasn’t seen her father for at least ten years. She’s gotten used to it and has built a life of her own. One morning, she learns that he is wanted for murder and that she has a half-sister. Her name is Virginie, and her motto is: “I don’t give a damn.” Almost against their will, they set out in search of their father. Between Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam, they meet Simon. Aline is Michel's daughter, whom he has taken away for the holidays. Aline agrees: she knows how much her father needs love. She knows it so well that she encourages his romance with Julie, a social worker. And Michel succumbs because she feels just as great a need for love as he does. But Léo, Julie's ex-lover, a junkie and car thief, is hanging around. Three adults in need of love. A need that Michel wanted to fill first with Aline, then with Julie. But the void is too great. An amused and impertinent chronicle that shares with us a few months of the life of independent art house cinemas with demanding programming. The film talks about freedom, independence, possible alternatives to multiplexes and programmed normalization, the role of the spectators in a process of resistance that is growing and takes us far beyond the cinema.
