Two teachers. An obscure pair of parents. A boy they want to save at all costs. Germany, 1983: Unable to find an explanation for a pupil's strange behavior, teachers Christina and Robert pay a visit to the child's parents. But from the moment they enter the family home, they can't shake off this strange feeling. The feeling that something is wrong with this house - and the family.

A cunning scientist exploits people with rare diseases to advance the field of research by decades. She plays different roles, each time with different costumes and emotions, in order to obtain valuable research data. Her head professor gets wind of her doings and has to deal with this situation: should efficient research be allowed, even if it is immoral?
