When Mr. Quang’s extended family returns to their hometown to perform a long-delayed reburial ritual, they find themselves not only confronting ancient spiritual traditions but also awakening a generational cycle of karmic retribution.
Set in 1985 post-war Vietnam, Khang moves to Saigon after securing a position to translate "The Little Prince." Due to his family connections, Khang's life under the new regime is secure. But everything changes when he meets Ky Nam, a reserved older widow who lives in Khang's new community.

The movie is about a psychologist, Tuong Minh who provides psychotherapy to An Nhien, a young female writer suffering from anxiety disorder. Nhien states that she’s obsessed by a certain girl. Strangely, the girl she mentioned is the main character in her first novel, The Whispering.
Mysterious deaths occur in a community where someone, or something, is brewing The Skull Wine, the oldest form of dark magic.
