Biography
Olivia Griselda is a Singapore-based, Indonesia-born writer-director. She most recently directed “Rite of Passage”, an experimental dance short film that was shot as part of Cinemovement Laboratory 6: Solo in Indonesia. The film is an official selection of Athens International Film and Video Festival 2021 (an Oscar-qualifying film festival), Asian Film Archive’s Singapore Shorts 2021, San Francisco Dance Film Festival 2021, and Minikino Film Week’s Bali International Short Film Festival 2021. She directed, wrote, and produced the romantic comedy short film “Just Because We’re Friends”, which was featured in Minikino Film Week’s Bali International Short Film Festival 2019 and Bakunawa Cinema of the Young 2021 (Philippines). She’s currently co-directing the animated comedy short film “She and Her Good Vibrations” with animation filmmaker Sarah Cheok. The project was successfully crowdfunded through Kickstarter and raised more than SGD 12,000. It won the Best Pitch Award on the Animated Visions Story Development Lab 2020 organised by *SCAPE and Cartoons Underground. The short film is slated for completion at the end of 2022.

Edwin promised to his sister on her deathbed to find her son she gave up a long time ago. Edwin's quest brought him to become a substitute teacher in Duri High School, Jakarta, a school for juvenile delinquents. There he must face the most violent students to find his nephew. When he eventually finds the boy, a city-wide riot erupts and Edwin is trapped in the school with the cruel kids out for his blood.

She & Her Good Vibrations
A man enters a passage and must choose to embrace either the persistence of time or the will of nature. Through improvised movement and choreography, this short film is a playful meditation on the body, space, and the present moment. The film was shot as part of Cinemovement Laboratory VI: Solo in Studio Plesungan, an art space run by Indonesian artist Melati Suryodarmo in the northern part of Solo, Indonesia.
