Hunter × Hunter: The Stage is a new upcoming play coming to Japan in May of 2023 and will be playing from the 12th - the 28th.

Its name is "The Evil Fish Squad". The evil fish squad consisting of Rinzo, Surume, Funaemon, and Himechi, are all on death row inmates. In exchange for death penalty exemption, it is a secret force that is tasked with doing dangerous, dark work that is close to death. This time, the mission given to the Evil Fish Corps is to undercover investigation into a mysterious group, Otaikokyo. Meanwhile, a young man appears in front of the evil fish squad. In modern-day Tokyo, Hayato and Ami, high school students who are in a relationship, get into a fight over Hayato's lack of commitment to their relationship. After they break up, Hayato gets into a traffic accident and falls into a coma. Ami, who furiously blames herself, suddenly picks up the copy of Victor-Marie Hugo's "The Beautiful Pecopin and the Devil" that was in Hayato's bag, and reads it at Hayato's bedside. As Hayato sleeps, he lives out the adventures of Pecopin from the novel with Ami and other figures from the real world taking the place of the book's characters.
