Once upon a time there was a king who had only one daughter. However, his kingdom was sad because the old king was always grumpy. Moreover, he liked to eat boiled duck, of course. There was no one left in the kingdom, so he decided that whoever brought him his delicacy would get the princess as his wife.
Impoverished King Bonifác wants to marry his only daughter Miluška off to fill the royal treasury. Miluška, with the help of Katka, a kind and wise maid, refuses all offers because her heart belongs to Ľubomír - a prince without property. The king becomes very angry and promises his daughter to the devil.
There was such a kingdom, there was such a king, who took the advice of stupid and ungrateful people and issued an order that all old people, under threat of death, must be disposed of by his subjects. But in that kingdom there was also one brave man who did not give in to threats and orders and secretly continued to take care of his father with love and respect. And it was his grandfather's advice that saved the kingdom and perhaps all ungrateful and selfish people will come to their senses even today through our fairy tale.
A poetically themed animated story by Ruda Mórica, with commentary by Gustáv Valach, about a duck named Modropierko who, despite many obstacles and several attempts at nesting, manages to hatch her long-awaited baby ducklings
