Bree Gant

Set beneath a surreal green sky on a distant, crumbling world, the film captures the last survivors of a dying civilization—women who perform a synchronized ritual dance to summon an ethereal extraterrestrial presence from another realm.

Wend compiles seven years of autoethnographic movement studies, looping through seasons in a filmic essay on temporality, interiority, and everyday ritual.

"This one is dedicated to the ancestors, those wise ones who came before." This magical collaboration between author Cherise Morris and director Kashira Dowridge, features performers Angela Abiodun, Bree Gant, Hanniyah Cross, Salakastar and Supercoolwicked.

"Otherlogue IV" is a screen dance meditation presenting choreographic portraits that explore family history and hoodrat things with friends. The film is directed, shot, and edited by bree gant and was created in collaboration with artists Celia Benvenutti, Hanniyah Cross, and Raven Whitney Joel, with appearances by Dr. Leon Gant and Nahimana Aponi. Mourner’s Bench is from the 1947 solo by choreographer Talley Beatty. It refers to a prayer bench in churches where people go to grieve, and the inseparable relationship between hope and grief. Set at a Detroit bus stop, this work considers grief in relation to place and mobility. Conceived, directed, and edited by bree gant, in collaboration with choreographer Celia Benvenutti and cinematographer Devin Drake.
