Biography
Friedrich Tiedtke, born in 1991 in Eckernförde/Schleswig-Holstein, has been making short films since childhood. After leaving school, Friedrich first lived in Berlin, where he was a guest student at the German Film and Television Academy (dffb), and later in Copenhagen/Denmark, where he worked as a trainee at ZENTROPA Productions. Since 2017 and until 2022 he studies directing at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and is a scholarship holder of the German National Academic Foundation. His short films have received the Filmpreis Schleswig-Holstein, the Deutscher Jugendfilmpreis and the Deutscher Nachwuchsfilmpreis, among others.

The 12-year-old German boy, Mathias, discovers his sexuality on a sailing boat in Denmark. Surrounded by water, trapped on the boat with his parents, who still treat him like a child, his desire is to get on land to have new experiences.

Boys Feels: High Tide
Due to his dementia, a painter gradually loses the control to keep his biggest secret to himself. Accompanied by his family, he climbs the high staircase to his apartment one last time and with each floor the secret seems to come to light a little more.

To finally stand on her own two feet, a young woman breaks off contact with her parents and fights alone to keep her self-sustaining farm. As winter sets in and the calving of her pregnant cow draws ever closer, loneliness and a longing for security and family grow. A story about cutting the umbilical cord.
