Ahla el-Awqat (The Best of Times) tells the story of a successful middle-aged woman (Salma, played by Hanan Tork) who is left to live with her step father after a not-so-tragic accident that claims the life of her mother. Salma goes on a quest to find out the identity of the sender of mystery letters and packages. One letter includes a picture of her and her two best friends from school (played by the Hend Sabry and Menna Shalaby), whom she has not seen for 14 years. Reunited, the girls embark on the quest of finding the identity of the sender.

An enthralling look at the relationship between America and the Arab World from an Arab perspective. It tells the story of Yehia, a renowned Egyptian filmmaker whose life has been shaped by a pair of disrupted love affairs, one with an American woman named Ginger, the other with America itself.

Zeina wakes up from a faint to find herself blind and unable to remember anything. She ends up with Ahmed on his boat, who enters into a frantic chase with Rashid. After sitting alone in one of the boat's rooms, she tries to recall everything that happened to her through its recordings, including the details of the love triangle in which she herself was one of the sides.

The film is set in the span of eight hours in the region of downtown Cairo, exploring the variety of characters present in the busy town, and several problems they face in their daily lives, in addition to the economical crisis the whole country is facing.
