Ernest the vampire

Little Ani is the only child in an ordinary family. As all children, Ani likes to ask her parents unexpected and surprising questions, but they fail to give satisfactory answers. It’s her favourite plush toy Weasymartenette who always knows the best and funniest answers. We discover that all those puzzling questions such as “Why do wolves howl at the moon?” or “Why are clouds so odd-shaped?” have a single answer: because of Weasymartenette!

It is a hot summer day, and the elf Tuncis is worried that the stream might dry up. Austras Koks reassures him that when it gets too dry, Varde always calls on Pērkonvīrus, and then rain falls over the forest. But this time things are different—the Underground Mother puts Vardi to sleep and orders her helpers to guard him. The time has come for Austra's tree spirits to save Tuncis and the other forest dwellers from drought.
