Biography
Named by MovieMaker Magazine as one of 2022’s screenwriters to watch, Gabriele Fabbro was born in 1996, in Milan, Italy. He’s a film director with a BFA degree in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy. Since 2011, he has written, directed and produced over 30 productions including features, shorts, music videos and commercials. His latest feature, Trifole, premiered at the 2025 Palm Springs International Film Festival and Santa Barbara International Film Festival, receiving nationwide theatrical releases in the US, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The film was also shortlisted as one of the 24 films in the running to be Italy’s submission to the 2026 Academy Awards. His debut feature, The Grand Bolero, premiered at the 2021 Austin Film Festival and is currently distributed by Amazon Prime Video in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Italy and the rest of Europe. His short film 8 (2019) was screened at the 76th Venice Film Festival. Among other notable works, he directed the music video If You Run (2020) for Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), selected for the 2022 Raindance Film Festival.
