The story begins with a shot of an old craftsman with his back to the camera. Not by chance. He, as well as two other craftsmen who work with wood, has life turned its back on them. After many years of successful sell of their products, today, in the modern way of life, their survival is threatened.

Far from his hometown, Beqir spends most of his time in front of the typewriter machine rather than with his wife. Nostalgic for his homeland and his people, he is no longer at peace with himself, so by writing his memoirs he tries to unveil something important, something he hides from his wife and even himself.

The documentary has a descriptive nature and aims to promote the natural beauty and values of the mountain Sharr in the Macedonian part.

The Lake is about the threatening forces of nature and the inevitable human fate. The image distorted by the human psyche comes to life when the main character encounters different unexplained situations that challenge his logic. Forced to act upon his instincts, his actions lead to his demise.
