The obstacles of living in a limiting environment and the feelings of remorse once you escape it are entwined in a conversational narrative between two girls living in opposite worlds. They each long for what the other has, one for freedom, ambition, and experience, while the other chases a feeling of belonging and home.
Living in a crowded, multi-generational household in a small village in Kosovo, the quiet teenager Venera can rarely find privacy. However, when she befriends the rebellious Dorina, a new, liberating world opens up to her. Slowly, Venera begins to push against her conservative family’s expectations.
