The American professional wrestling promotion WWE has been broadcasting PPV events since the 1980s, when its classic "Big Four" events (Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series) were first established with the company's very first PPV being WrestleMania in 1985. The company's PPV lineup expanded to a monthly basis in the mid-1990s following the introduction of the In Your House series of pay-per views before expanding even further in the mid-2000s during the first WWE brand extension. Following WWE's original brand extension in 2002, the company promoted two touring rosters, Raw and SmackDown, representing its television programs, Raw and SmackDown. The traditional "Big Four" continued to showcase the entire roster, while the remaining PPV events alternated between Raw and SmackDown cards. In March 2007, WWE announced that all subsequent PPV events would feature performers from all brands. In 2008, all WWE PPV events began broadcasting in high-definition.

AEW Dark is a weekly web series featuring untelevised matches from the TNT series AEW Dynamite. Former WCW announcer Tony Schiavone hosts the program.

ECW was a professional wrestling television program for WWE, based on the independent Extreme Championship Wrestling promotion that lasted from 1992 to 2001. The show's name also referred to the ECW brand, in which WWE employees were assigned to work and perform, complementary to WWE's other brands, Raw and SmackDown. It debuted on June 13, 2006 on Sci Fi in the United States and ran for close to four years until it aired its final episode on February 16, 2010 on the rebranded Syfy. It was replaced the following week with WWE NXT.

AEW Dark: Elevation will featuring up and rising talent in AEW, as well as wrestlers from the independent circuit Hosted by Tony Schiavone and former WWE superstar Paul Wight.

The Great American Bash (2008) was the fifth annual Great American Bash PPV. It was presented by AT&T and took place on July 20, 2008 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York and featured talent from the Raw, SmackDown, and ECW brands. The main match on the SmackDown brand was between Triple H and Edge for the WWE Championship. The primary match on the Raw brand was between CM Punk and Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship. The predominant match on the ECW brand was between Mark Henry and Tommy Dreamer for the ECW Championship. The featured matches on the undercard included John Cena versus John "Bradshaw" Layfield (JBL) in a New York City Parking Lot Brawl and Shawn Michaels versus Chris Jericho. The event also crowned the first ever WWE Divas Champion, and it was the last pay-per-view event by WWE before transitioning to PG rating.

AIW Slumber Party Massacre is an event put on by Absolute Intense Wrestling. The event took place at White Eagle Hall in Jersey City, New Jersey.

After 18 long years , XPW and it's mastermind founder Rob Black, are Back and on November 7th they present Rebirth live on FITE! On this special night a 8 man tournament will take place to crown the New XPW World Heavyweight Champion. The contenders are Brian Cage, Willie Mack, Matt Cross, Bill Collier, Masada, Rhino, KC Navarro and a surprise entree. Who will become the first World Champion since the Franchise Shane Douglas? Also on the show Shlak, G-Raver, Colin Delaney and few surprises. Doing color commentary and hosting the historic show will be the original voice of XPW Kris Kloss.

During Night 2 of wrestling's biggest tournament, the quarter-final matches are held, and the Rey de Voladores ("King of Flyers") mini-tournament begins! Two incredible elimination matches take place: Austin Aries, Matt Jackson, Player Dos, and Fire Ant square off only to be trumped by the unforgettable El Generico vs. Nick Jackson vs. Jigsaw vs. Kota Ibushi battle!

The BDK continues their all-out assault on CHIKARA when Lince Dorado, Pink Ant and Daizee Haze face The Colony in trios action, Claudio Castagnoli and Ares wrestle the Throwbacks, and Eddie Kingston battles the massive Tursas! Player Uno looks to avenge his partner's defeat by challenging for the Young Lions Cup.

The basic setup for the day was that the eight first round matches would take place on the early show, while the second round (taking place on the later show) would feature two 4-way matches. The two winners of those 4-ways would meet in the finals. The second show would also feature various matches stuffed in and all around to fill out the card

Japanese legend Manami Toyota makes the second appearance of her U.S. debut weekend teaming with Mike Quackenbush against the BDK's Claudio Castagnoli and Manami Toyota, UltraMantis Black looks to recruit Hallowicked for his Torneo Cibernetico team, Frightmare defends the CHIKARA Young Lions Cup against the BDK's Pinkie Sanchez, and more.

Season 8 concludes as the Colony defend the CHIKARA Campeonatos de Parejas against the former Champions the Osirian Portal, Eddie Kingston battles Claudio Castagnoli in a Respect Match, and a huge surprise ending changes the face of CHIKARA for years to come.
