Biography
Nadirah Shakir is Actress/Director from San Antonio, Texas. After wrapping up a record setting track career at The University of Houston, Nadirah turned attention to her first love: acting. She's starred in numerous commercials, print ads and indie projects including: award-winning indie series #WASHED, Dallas-based film Dana's Story, Starter Marriage, Low Key and Dark Tresor. Additionally, she's appeared on the set of the Vampire Diaries, Divergent:Origin, Barbershop 3 and Tasmanian Devil. Not only is she a budding star in front of the camera but she made her directorial debut in the season two premiere of #WASHED as co-director. Nadirah was also a dominating voice behind-the -season for the remaining nine episodes as Assistant Director. Shakir has contributed greatly to #WASHED's "Best of Fest" award at the Hip Hop Film Festival and "Best Comedy" nomination at the Indie Series Awards. Nadirah is determined to make her mark as a leading lady in all facets as an actress and director. She's honing her craft with renowned acting coach Glenn Morshower who has an extensive list of accolades and Jemal McNeil who coached Taraji P Henson and Oscar winner Octavia Spencer.
