Kaouther Dhaouadi

Set in the 1940s during World War II and before Tunisia's independence, the series reflects the Tunisian resistance to French colonialism, whether by the people (through the "Fellagha" group) or the trade union, emphasizing all aspects of that period and the social, economic, and political events.

Sultan, a marginalized taxi driver, works nights while awaiting the birth of his child. On New Year's Eve 2010/2011, Sultan encounters a group of passengers, each with their own social, political, and intellectual concerns. The story takes a turn when Sultan becomes involved with an influential woman who orders him to kill her unfaithful husband. He then discovers a dangerous file containing plans to destroy the country. Events intertwine with the death of his wife, and he ends up in a psychiatric hospital where he is murdered after 14 years. However, justice ultimately prevails as the truth is revealed and the guilty are punished.

A young boy escapes his failing body and isolated life by traveling in his dreams. When his step-father urges his mother to stop caring so much, both mother and son take an important and life-changing step.

Nightmares wake Dr. Fares and make him obsessed with finding out why he keeps dreaming about visiting his mother, who died a year and a half ago. This leads him to reopen the case of her death, and that's where the events of the film begin, combining drama, suspense, and investigation. The stages of the story are inspired by a true story, and the protagonists of the film are Dr. Faris, his wife Inès, and the housekeeper Sawsen.
