In the late 1970s – at a time when the fiercest propaganda against Western culture was being waged throughout the USSR – an ardent rock and roll fan sets up a successful and illegal underground jeans factory in a Latvian psychiatric hospital.

A Latvian series shot by the team at Jaunais Rīgas Teātris / New Riga Theatre over the course of summer 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic. It's a story about a world that once again changes rapidly. About the belief that everything on this planet is subject to manipulation. The series centers around an advertising agency - a classic office where professionalism mixes with boredom, romance and an existential tiredness.

Adam, a man from the capital, lands a job in a postal office of a quiet town. His boss, Anita, a small-town Marilyn Monroe, has two concerns - a lack of romantic partner, and a battle with a rival postal office nearby, as one of them will be closed. Adam becomes enchanted by a woman who works at a nearby cafe, while her colonel father is too shy to express his feelings towards Anita and writes anonymous love letters instead...

Laine is a college girl from a bland middle-class suburb in Latvia. As Laine’s father distances himself from his crumbling marriage and his family, Laine is unable to cope with the separation and discovers the edgy Riga party scene, where she falls in love with seasoned raver Gunda. Going from rave to rave, the girls journey into a drug-fuelled underworld of anarchy, freedom and exploration.

Three relationships deconstructed. The Red Couple choose to pretend to be harmonious for the last three days of living together. The Green Couple's three days are full of uncertainty and nervousness, waiting for the other to reveal themselves intimately. The Yellow Couple, two colleagues, will lose themselves in the workplace romance genre trying not to fall in love.
