Biography
James Button is a BAFTA Cymru Nominated Writer and BBC Comedy Collective director who’s had a LOT of fun making fun films for fun. An excitable indie filmmaker always seeking to spread silliness (as we’ll all be dead soon anyway). The latest 3 (of his 20+) short films “The Foul“(dog poo), “RoButler” (naughty AI) and “Road Rage” (inconvenient time-travel) have amassed awards and 70+ official selections, including at BAFTA/BIFA- recognised festivals. In 2024 he wrote/directed 3 new comedy shorts: “The Quackening” (about a duck-themed curse), “1 In 5 Sheep” (an arty exploration of why do sheep baa?) and “Time’s Up, I’m Afraid” (about a multiverse-hopping therapist). James is also developing his debut feature script based in a fantastical Welsh town of crazy characters called…“Screbs”.

A grumpy Welshman reluctantly visits his grandmother, only to discover she has only gone and got herself cursed! So now he needs to bloody save her (and the world) from a demon duck...before midnight.
The Quackening
Dan and James have a dark secret which they must keep buried, one they can't let anyone, including Dan's girlfriend, Annie, ever find out. However, when the innocently idiotic James brings home a prostitute, shit starts to go down and the body count starts to go up.
The Corpse Series
Some thing has to do something about all that dog sh*t. This is a corporate public information film about the necessity of cleaning up after your dog. Come on guys, just pick up the poop.
