Farmers Maria and Martin wish to adopt a boy from an orphanage and are surprised to receive Anna sent by mistake. Anna quickly wins the heart of Martin but is disapproved of by stern Maria at first.

Max is a young and talented manager with a totally disgusting character, hated and considered a bad person by those around him. Without respect, friends and love, life is meaningless, Max's grandfather, a powerful and domineering man, is convinced. Wedding rituals and a love triangle.

Dagne, her husband and teenage daughter live in a peaceful Latvian countryside. While everyone is busy with their own thing, the family ties are loosening. Dagne is diagnosed with slowly progressing deafness. Acceptance of the new situation and the need to adapt to new ways of communication, including learning sign language, is not easy for neither of them. Dagne feels left alone and not supported during this hard time of her life her. Her daughter is very busy with her music band and preparation for an upcoming contest. Her husband is occupied with work at the farm. Even simple daily things become complicated, impossible and emotionally hard.

During World War II, a young man and woman are separated by chance. Fifty years later, they are still searching for each other, hoping to meet again.

Circumstances force two former friends and schoolmates to meet again after a long separation. There’s an unresolved conflict from their past. Will this chance meeting result in reconciliation?
