The show was meant to compete with those on West German television. To this end it was fairly successful even attracting a following in parts of West Germany which could receive Eastern TV. Its production values were high. Apart from song and dance numbers and appearances from East German celebrities, almost every broadcast featured well-known stars from the west, often after their popularity had peaked in their home countries.

Chief pilot Bryk refuses to fly, secretary Flessy becomes the unscrupulous general's mistress after one lover after another fails to return from a mission, and the rest of the squadron is shot down during an ammunition flight. The French army shows up at the camp to arrest the interpreter Thao for espionage. Bryk rescues her and flees with her to the liberated part of Vietnam.

Finally, some small-time crooks find a way to help "their" policeman out of his emotional misery: They steal a memorial from the market square and thus help Holms to a spectacular case.

It's Saturday lunchtime in a small town near Munich and there's not much going on. The local bank is already closed, doors and windows are barred. The few passers-by in the main shopping street do not notice that a violent crime is being committed behind these windows. When the police later take up the investigation, a young bank employee becomes the only witness. His statements seem contradictory. And yet it is several other people who now have to struggle with conflicts of conscience. The more gaps in the police's chain of evidence, the more serious the decision to tell the truth and risk their own happiness. This fact has not gone unnoticed by other interested nations. At the International Congress of Chemists in Geneva, a power struggle broke out between agents of the BND and the CIA over a preparation that had been smuggled into Switzerland without the knowledge of Dr. Werner, Gerlach's GDR representative and assistant, and which the enemies hoped would shed light on the composition of the invention.

Real part: A puppet animation film studio. The director, cameraman, animators and lighting technicians set up a scene in which a streetcar car with passengers appears. The recording begins, the animator moves the puppets phase by phase. Trick part: An old woman gets on the streetcar at a stop and can't find a seat. Fritzchen deliberately looks away so that he doesn't have to get up. All the puppets look at him indignantly. Real part: The scene is over. It's closing time and the dolls are put in a cupboard. The staff leave the studio. Trick part: The puppet cupboard comes to life. Fritzchen apologizes to the old woman and blames the animator and director for his behaviour. He calls on the puppets to shoot the scene again. This happens, and now he does offer his seat to the little mother. Real part : The doorman notices a glow of light in the studio, opens the door, but sees nothing unusual. The dolls have returned to their cupboard. Shaking his head, the doorman returns to his box.
