SOKO Donau is an Austrian television series.

SOKO Kitzbühel is an Austrian television series produced by ORF and ZDF. It is a spin-off of the German crime series SOKO 5113. It is set in the renowned Tyrolean tourist centre of Kitzbühel. The production company "beo-Film" has produced the show since 2001. The German abbreviation SOKO stands for Sonderkommission, "special commission", a task force with specific duties.

History professor Baisch, his depressive and tablet-addicted brother-in-law Anzengruber and a manic cabaret artist have a car accident on a remote country road after a party. Wedged between two trees they get stuck, doors and windows can no longer be opened, the windows made of bulletproof glass cannot be smashed. Injured and with no chance of escape, they wait for days for rescue. Their only provisions are a bowl of herring salad and a few bottles of Prosecco. Fits of rage and fear alternate with overwrought hilarity and desperate fits of crying. But it gets worse...

For months, the corrupt Viennese policeman Albert Schuh unsuccessfully investigates the murder case of his former friend and colleague. Then he gets a young, overambitious partner. The German colleague Thorsten Richter is a set of correctness and ambition, and thus the exact opposite of the Viennese, the "benefits" from the criminal scene is quite open. Major Kottan was actually born in the depths of the 1970s in a folk play by Helmut Zenker for the Vienna Volkstheater. More than 30 years after the film script was written, the Rabenhof version of the first Kottan TV episode, "Hartlgasse 16a," demonstrates the story's timeless validity. The stage version of this "milestone in television history," whose resonance is still felt in the German-speaking television landscape today, takes place here and now in the Rabenhof municipal building. The revival of the folk play genre is one approach to this venture; another explores the question of whether Helmut Zenker is not a direct artistic descendant of Ödön von Horvath.
