Arriving in Moscow, Chechen War veteran Danila meets Konstantin, an old friend who tells him that his twin brother has been forced into signing a crooked contract with a US ice hockey team. Soon after this meeting, Danila discovers Konstantin dead and he sets out to avenge his death; a journey that leads him to Chicago and a whole new experience.

In modern-day Moscow, disaffected former journalism student Roman follows a cryptic invitation to join “the elite” and finds himself forcibly transformed into a vampire. But not your typical creature of the night. Thanks to a parasitical worm known as the Tongue, Roman (now called Rama) has become part of a ruling class of vampires who exercise an “anonymous dictatorship” over humans based not on a thirst for blood but the hunger for money. As various instructors school him in the ways of their elite breed, and Rama explores his new supernatural abilities, he begins a tentative relationship with another newly turned vampire, Hera. His desire for more knowledge about this intoxicating new world also leads him into potentially deadly conflict with Mithra, his mentor who becomes his nemesis.

The autistic postman had been diligently delivering mail since childhood. The whole town knew and loved him, and a few families held a special place in his heart. One day, he couldn’t bring himself to deliver a death notice. Instead, he wrote a “letter from the front”. From then on, he replaced death notices with letters, and no one ever suspected the deception because the postman was a talented man – his letters seemed to be written by different people. But this didn’t last long, because during wartime, the military authorities closely monitored the mail.

And then for a long time they lived, not seeing anyone around: love is self-sufficient, it rejects the superfluous. Meetings at the desolate metro station "Arbatskaya". He will make time between business trips, she between flights. Flowers and kisses outside, in the cold rain. A bed in his empty bright house. Parting again. But soon he will understand that "the most beautiful girl in Moscow and the Moscow region" is his fate...

Somewhere deep, deep in Russia there is a town called Marks (named after Karl Marks, founder of Communism theory) where all people are working on toy factory and receiving their wages as toys. News from other cities are arriving on very rare occasion. One morning, Boris, a former boxing who is running from something, wakes up in train and see four letters MAR_S. From his first steps he starts to meet new people as Gregori, young man with a dream who is in love with local librarian, Greta, whose dream is to get out from this god-forgotten town. With each new step, he is meeting new people, but the past is hard to escape

Throughout his life, Egor lived in a remote taiga. All his knowledge of the world, he learned from the stories of his only relative — old grandfather-hunter. Once Egor meets TV presenter Angelina, he falls in love and decides to journey to Moscow in order to marry her. However, he finds it difficult to get used to the pace of metropolitan life.

The Muscovite family urgently flies to Tashkent. Parents explain such haste to the 12-year-old hero by the need to help his grandfather, who lives in Uzbekistan, with business. The boy saw him only once, in deep childhood, but he remembered that meeting with an eccentric relative well.

The plot is not developed; in the film we see a man (he) and a woman (she) who, in fact, are neither connected nor familiar with each other; they casually met in hospital. "She" (Viktoria Tolstoganova) does not see that she is in danger in connection with her plan to use a tape with illegally made recordings as compromising evidence in court. "He" (Il'ia Shakunov, an actor of the Petersburg TYuZ) is a gay translator who, after the random meeting with her, is pursued by her image which frequently pops up in front of him. As a consequence, his relationship with a young boy no longer satisfies him. Both he and she lose sight of the meaning of life, because of their own inability to see others and to see love, as perception relies on proximity instead of distance.
