Biography

Andy started his career as a performer in the alternative theatre and circus, notably appearing with Circus Lumiere and the celebrated French circus Archaos. He also directed and performed with Rational Theatre from 1982-1989. He then made numerous music videos, including several collaborations with the band Underworld, and directed commercials for his own company Impossible Films. A film with Circus Archaos commissioned by La Sept TV in France led to a career in UK TV drama. After winning the Cable Ace award for direction of a mini-series for Cracker, Andy directed Angelina Jolie and David Duchovny in Playing God for Touchstone. More recently Andy has directed episodes of Endeavour, Poirot, Ripper Street and the successful ITV drama Unforgotten.

Through globalization, many countries have been opened and barriers removed to ensure easy trade, travel and cultural diversity. However, this openness has given opportunities to criminals looking to exploit the system and ultimately threaten our global safety. As Europe has become a "safe house" for criminals eluding law enforcers, a special kind of law enforcement team is needed to handle specific ongoing crimes on a global level. "Crossing Lines" is the story of one such team, made up of five international cops, headed by Captain Daniel. The team - comprised of individuals who have little in common - must learn to live and work under the most dangerous and potentially deadly conditions. Housed in an unused storage section underneath the ICC, this mismatched team faces bureaucratic, jurisdictional and cultural obstacles while traversing continents in pursuit of justice.

The title character, Teddy Rist (portrayed by James Purefoy), is a billionaire playboy haunted by the death of his only child. His life changes when he rescues a young boy during a hurricane in Nigeria. As a result, Rist begins using his fortune to personally change the lives of others.[4] The Philanthropist is based loosely on the life of Bobby Sager.[5] The Philanthropist is an American action drama series that premiered on NBC on Wednesday, June 24, 2009. The program was a limited summer series, principally filmed in South Africa. It opened to strong ratings, but saw a drop in viewers in subsequent weeks. The Philanthropist is a Carnival Films production in association with The Levinson/Fontana Company and Original Media. Tom Fontana, Barry Levinson, Peter Horton, Charlie Corwin, Gareth Neame, and Teri Weinberg served as executive producers.
