Biography
Nikos Kolioukos (born 1996) is an Athens-based director. He graduated from the Department of Film at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. His first short film, entitled “The Chaos She Left Behind”, won 2nd prize in the La Cinef competition section at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. At its national premiere at the 46th International Drama Short Film Festival, the film received the awards for Best Direction and Best Actress in the National Student Competition. The film subsequently participated in the 64th Thessaloniki Film Festival and was selected for the official program of the 30th Sarajevo International Film Festival.
Known For

Six chapters describe the lives and perils of Thessaloniki’s Jewish community which was almost entirely exterminated by the Nazis in 1943. Past and present become an echo chamber in which the viewer experiences, aghast, the madness of humanity.
