The Spa is a sitcom created, written and starring Derren Litten. It is set in a health spa in Hertfordshire and follows the daily goings-on of the business. Alison Crabbe has a vision to turn the Hertfordshire health club she manages into the ultimate recuperative retreat. And she's pretty certain she could achieve it, were it not for its doddery customers and incompetent staff. But the truth is, the bolshy boss herself - overconfident and tactless - is the impediment to the Spa's ultimate success. She makes little effort to hide her displeasure with her team, which includes a chef who can't cook, a fitness instructor who can't be bothered to exercise, a suicidal cleaner, a dippy receptionist and a forgetful, socially awkward handyman.

Einstein's Big Idea
7.3

Over 100 years ago, Albert Einstein grappled with the implications of his revolutionary special theory of relativity and came to a startling conclusion: mass and energy are one, related by the formula E = mc2. In "Einstein's Big Idea," NOVA dramatizes the remarkable story behind this equation. E = mc2 was just one of several extraordinary breakthroughs that Einstein made in 1905, including the completion of his special theory of relativity, his identification of proof that atoms exist, and his explanation of the nature of light, which would win him the Nobel Prize in Physics. Among Einstein's ideas, E = mc2 is by far the most famous. Yet how many people know what it really means? In a thought-provoking and engrossing docudrama, NOVA illuminates this deceptively simple formula by unraveling the story of how it came to be.

Riot at the Rite
8.0

In the spring of 1913, Parisian businessman Gabriel Astruc opens a new theater on the Champs Elysées. The first performance is the premiere of Igor Stravinsky's 'The Rite of Spring', danced by the Ballet Russes. The rehearsal process is extremely fraught: the orchestra dislike Stravinsky's harsh, atonal music; the dancers dislike the 'ugly' choreography of Vaslav Nijinsky. The volatile, bisexual Nijinsky is in a strained relationship with the much older Sergei Diaghilev, the Ballet Russes' charismatic but manipulative impresario. Public expectation is extremely high after Nijinsky's success in 'L'apres-midi d'un faune'. Finally, 'The Rite of Spring' premieres to a gossip-loving, febrile, fashion-conscious Parisian audience sharply divided as to its merits.
