Dan Oki

Nina, a young activist, is selling her family home, which is close to a factory in Vranjic. Her boyfriend, Srdjan, is going to work in Germany as a dentist and is leaving Nina and her strong, but blind mother, Carmen, for good. Nina is waiting for the results of a medical check-up.

Krešo becomes victim of an unjust social system and various life situations that unfold one after another, gradually leading him to utter financial and existential destruction, while he is powerless over the outcome and can do nothing to change his life for the better. He finds self-achievement only in the video blog (vlog) he occasionally shoots where he reveals his positive thoughts on life.

A small coastal area has been destroyed by the presence of industrial facilities. The film follows the lives of 4 protagonists, who are either fighting for their own survival among these dangerous facilities or they live in a harmonious coexistence with them.

Combination of film, computer animation and video which meditatively questions the element of water as primeval philosophic beginning and the omnipresent life force. This work is an encyclopedic sample of different elements that have water as their topic. Sticking to the encyclopedic presentation, Oki ends with questions and terms in seven languages (Greek, Latin, English, German, French, Russian and Croatian) about Non-being (like the drowning man) or (the puzzling nature of) tangible objects.

The Dark takes place over a period of 36 hours, on the first day of summer. Taxi driver Frane lives together with his sister and her husband in an unusual strange domestic arrangement. Frane learns that his sister is pregnant and he is not sure how he feels about the baby that she is expecting. After his night shift Frane kills a young unknown woman while he is having sex with her. He tries to cover up all traces of the crime, but in doing so he commits two further murders, one of which goes wrong. Throughout the film, the victims tell their stories at the places where the murders took place. On the morning of the summer solstice Frane thinks he has managed to get away with his crimes and he goes with his sister and her husband for a picnic in the forest by the river, not knowing what awaits him there.
