At Theater tonight is a TV show broadcasted from 25th August 1966 to 21st September 1985. The show is broadcast plays recorded in two or three days, during public performances at the Théâtre Marigny on the Champs-Élysées, or sometimes Edouard VII theater.

Angelo "Snaps" Provolone made his dying father a promise on his deathbed: he would leave the world of crime and become an honest businessman. Despite having no experience in making money in a legal fashion, Snaps sets about to keep his promise.

A writer accidentally shoots his blackmailer and tries to hide the body.

This film originated as a play in Paris. The story focuses on the one-day adventures of Bertrand Barnier played with a genius of French cinema, Louis de Funes. In the same morning he learns that his daughter is pregnant, an employee stole a large amount of money from his company, his maid is about to resign in order to marry a wealthy neighbor and his body builder is interested in marrying his daughter. The seemingly complicated story-line is full of comedy or errors and some of the most hilarious mime scenes of the French cinema.

Martin Christiaans asks his employer Joop Bubbelman for a pay raise as well as the hand of his daughters. Bubbelman's daughter Colette confesses she is in love and exaggerates by pretending to be pregnant. But Martin does not know the woman he loves, has lied that he is Bubbelman's daughter, and Joop does not realize that his daughter plans to marry his chauffeur Oscar, whom he has recently let go.

Julie and Désirée Clary are courted by the brothers Joseph and Napoleon Bonaparte. Joseph marries Julie and Napoleon is affianced to Désirée. When Napoleon breaks the engagement and marries Joséphine de Beauharnais, Désirée becomes involved with General Bernadotte.

Blondine, the daughter of a poor fisherman, marries the Prince of the Mountain. Brune, her sister, envies Blondine her happiness and tells her that a secret lies hidden in her husband's name. Blondine tries to discover it but, before she does, the Prince is imprisoned by an ogre. Blondine must face goblins, imps, and the water djinni before she can deliver her captive Prince.

A young man comes back to his hometown to be confronted with a bourgeois obnoxious family who has always despised his -now dead - parents because they were music hall artists, "entertainers". But because he's the sole legatee of an uncle's fortune, his relatives become friendly with him.. at least for a while.

Alex Grégoire is a timid insurance company clerk who shares his uneventful life between his wife Angèle, his colleagues and his passion for crosswords. Jacqueline, who lives in the country, has organized her life around her husband, whom she loves, and her lover, whom she has taken in for a little distraction. One lonely evening, when she has taken a sleeping pill before going to sleep, she doesn't realize that an indiscreet but courteous visitor has entered her house, soon overcome by the rest of the sleeping pill in a glass of water. The husband returns unexpectedly to find his wife lying next to the stranger: "Monsieur Masure" has great difficulty in demonstrating to the husband his innocence in this affair. But he succeeds. But Jacqueline is pretty and very tempting, so the Machiavellian Monsieur Masure concocts a whole affabulation to confuse Jacqueline and her lover - by telephone - and then make the latter believe that this famous artificial sleep was not such as to have prevented her from receiving the tributes that he, Masure, was delighted to lavish on her.
