The series is built in the form of saga and depicts the turbulent periods of the beginning of the 20th century through the eyes of ordinary people: the First World War, the revolution, the emergence of Soviet regime. Each of the characters faced the changes in their own way through their concept of truth. However, all of them shared fundamental desire to live, love and find their own place in the new era.

Four short stories are set along the roads of Donbass during the war. There are no safe spaces and no one can make sense of just what is going on. Even as they are trapped in the chaos, some manage to wield authority over others. But in this world, where tomorrow may never come, not everyone is defenseless and miserable. Commander of UPA Danylo Chervonyi gets into the terrible slaughter of Stalin's camps, where he must go through hell and inhumane prison conditions, prosecution of criminal leaders, meanness, betrayal and despair. In one continuous shot, SHTTL shows the lives, loves, and inner conflicts within a Yiddish speaking shtetl on the border between Ukraine and Poland - one day before the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union.

Wanting to earn easy money, Snizhana decides to deceive everyone and take possession of a valuable object. Anything could have happened if 11 children from Morshyn had not gotten in her way. Uniting into a single front for the sake of a greater goal, they start fighting injustice

Having lost his oldest son in the war between Russia and Ukraine, Mustafa resolves to bring the boy’s body to the land of his birth: Crimea. Together, he and his younger son set out on a journey that will profoundly mark their relationship.

The film takes place in Chernihiv in the first days of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. A group of people of different ages and social status find themselves in the basement of a high-rise building, where they are hiding from shelling. After the explosion, the entrance is blocked and everyone stays in the basement for 7 days, facing hunger and constant danger. Under the pressure of fear and uncertainty of who will find them — the Ukrainian army or the Russians — people are divided into warring groups.

Nadya works as a manicurist, lives a happy life with her husband Vasyl, who justifies his inactivity with a big tail (like a fish) instead of legs, she does not notice that he uses her and is a parasite on relationships, until Vasyl's act happens, which she cannot to forgive, and this forever changes her attitude towards herself.
