After the tragic loss of his mother, 10-year-old Antoine tries to understand the meaning of grief that fell upon his family. Through memories and remnants she left behind, Antoine gets closer to his mother.

Following his wife’s sudden hospitalization, and the subsequent return of his step-son, John is forced to confront his wife’s worsening physical and mental condition, his own mortality, and his past falterings in fatherhood.

In the woods, a mother and her daughter spend a weekend vacation at the cabin. They organize a traditional barbecue evening with their old friends living on the other side of the lake. However, the Lapointe family never shows up. Increasingly disturbing events threaten the safety of the two women, but above all their sanity. The lake cools and darkens, danger lurks nearby.

Asma receives bad news about her father's health. She takes the road towards home with an uncle about whom she knows nothing; he who cut ties with his family a long time ago.
