The story of two outcast sisters, Ginger and Brigitte, in the mindless suburban town of Bailey Downs. On the night of Ginger's first period, she is savagely attacked by a wild creature. Mavis Dogblood is a Mohawk painter from Canada haunted by the tragic death of her husband, who was hit by lightning. She meets her uncle Zef who, in fact, is an aunt. Zef is a 'vowed virgin' that is a woman who lives her life as a man never marrying of having children.
