Directing
vs (or "virtual spiral") deals with the dynamics between time and body in film. On digital video and non-reliable 16mm-film the processual of time and (film) body is visually transformed by spiraling camera movements. Here, contrary movements, distance and proximity or depth and surface enter into a dialogue with each other. The spiral runs like a thread through the film vs. For creating the spiraling effect the artist Lydia Nsiah invented a camera tracking machine and shot in-studio, operating the movements of the camera live while recording.

In her found-footage spin cycle created with a special camera device, Lydia Nsiah conjures up an immersive rhythm in which one can sense fears and chances, and watch as they become dynamic. Spiraling images from sci-fi films are augmented with sounds by Pisitakun, Jejuno, and Billy Roisz to an embodiment of technological images.
to forget is a filmic journey on the potentialities of forgetting and its resemblance to remembering. Recorded on expired Super-8 and 16mm film, forgetting becomes productive and ”’visible” in non-existing, fading and colour-transformed film exposures. This (non-)documentation of possibly empty and fading spaces (to be) is further highlighted by Jejuno’s trance-like and uncanny sound composition: The abyss is present.
artist highlights self-care and masculinity from an artistic and documentary perspective. The film celebrates images of togetherness, care and sensitivity at the Mr. Artist Barbershop in Vienna. Filmed by hand, the camera stays close to the protagonists. The body rhythm of the filmmaker is written into and onto the film exposures and converses with the experienced hand gestures of the barbers. Through craft and artistic expression, two forms of work enter into a sensual and transformative dialogue with each other. The analogue, warmly coloured and abstracted 16mm exposures are interwoven with an immersive and nuanced sound space composed by musician Rojin Sharafi.
