Sergeant Cork is a British detective television series which first aired between 1963 and 1968 on ITV. It was a police procedural show that followed the efforts of two police officers and their battle against crime in Victorian London. In all 66 hour-long episodes were aired during the five-year run, although the last episode was not broadcast until January 1968, 16 months after the others. Journalist Tom Sutcliffe has credited it as a first example of the use of the Victorian-era policeman in a television crime series. A 1969 review in The Age opined that rather than suspense, the strengths of the series were its "excellent period settings and wonderfully thick pea-soupers" which "add up to splendid evocative stuff", as well as the performance of star John Barrie. At no time during the whole series is Sergeant Cork's first name given.
London itself takes the starring role in this series of plays from the BBC – a role which varies between hero and villain, enchantress and harpy. The series features extensive location filming, ranging from Soho to the Law Courts, Wembley to the docks. Of the twelve episodes, eleven are believed to be lost.

Famous photographer Larry Martin receives a visit from his brother Philip, on leave from military service in West Germany. Philip is trying to find the wife of a deceased friend and his search takes him to Dublin. Sometime later, Larry learns that Philip never went to Dublin, but instead has disappeared.
A company director has been murdered by a perfect stranger. DI Alan Milton is put in charge of the case. He is the former fiancé of the victim's secretary. She is now about to marry a mysterious figure with a connection to the murder suspect.
When the TARDIS lands in the sea off the eastern coast of England, the Second Doctor, Jamie, and Victoria investigate a nearby beach, which seems to have an improbably large amount of sea foam as well as a major gas pipe marked “Euro Sea Gas” What is really happening at "Euro Sea Gas." The story begins with the death of a cat. For Mrs Everton, the owner, it climaxes four months of terror during which she has been paying two young brothers £1 a week to keep them from carrying out their threats against her two cats.Although Mrs Everton is aware that the two boys aren't responsible for the cat's death, she nevertheless sets out to wreak revenge.
