1972. Once hearing the songs of Robertino Loretti, a 12-year-old schoolboy from Lyubertsy Yura also begins to sing. At first, he is shy about this, because singing, according to his peers and some adults, is not a man's occupation at all. But, thanks to the mentorship of a young music teacher Varvara, Yura develops her talent and decides to audition for the Pavlov Choir. The head of the choir has only a month to expand the cast and prepare a new program for participation in the TV festival "Song of the Year".
St. Petersburg, mid 19th century: the indolent, middle-aged Oblomov lives in a flat with his older servant, Zakhar. He sleeps much of the day, dreaming of his childhood on his parents' estate. His boyhood companion, Stoltz, now an energetic and successful businessman, adds Oblomov to his circle whenever he's in the city, and Oblomov's life changes when Stoltz introduces him to Olga, lovely and cultured. When Stoltz leaves for several months, Oblomov takes a country house near Olga's, and she determines to change him: to turn him into a man of society, action, and culture. Soon, Olga and Oblomov are in love; but where, in the triangle, does that leave Stoltz?

Few months before collapse of USSR. Villages and collective farms are facing with problem: young and working age people leaving countryside for better life in cities. Same problem in collapsing collective farm near Moscow - the only mechanic and harvester driver decides to leave his native village because he feels deeply offended for being severely punished for breakdown harvester. But his countrymen disagree with his decision and try to prevent his escape.
The action takes place in the USSR of the 20s. Soviet pioneer Shura Klimova dreams of becoming as famous a movie star as America's favorite and Hollywood pioneer Mary Pickford. The pioneer organization of Shuri condemns her behavior, the comrades are working together on the pioneer Klimova for individualism, but nothing can dissuade the girl and take away her dream.
