Directing
A sanjo gayageum has twelve strings while a harp has forty-seven. Gayageum musician Joo Bora and harpist Lee Gihwa form a duo with the aim of bridging East and West through the two traditional string instruments. In the wake of COVID-19, they prepare for their first performance together, taking a step closer to each other and gaining a deeper understanding of the differences between their musical instruments. They learn to appreciate emptiness, and then interpret it through the act of artistic giving.
Last May, 100,000 South Americans at a BTS(K-pop superstar group)'s concert in Sao Paulo passionately sang along to the songs in Korean. In opposite parts of the world though the number is smaller, there are musicians in Korea who share a passion for Brazilian music and sing in Portugese. Now begins the story of these Korean Brazilian musicians.
