A small town in Western Germany is the last stop for 26,000 pigs per day and a brief home for masses of Eastern European temporary workers. The workers of the largest slaughterhouse in the country are fighting for survival, while German activists who stand up for their rights are fighting against the local authorities. At the same time, Munich high school students are working on the play "Saint Joan of the Stockyards" and trying to grasp the old text and German capitalism of our days. Interwoven with the young people's examination of the text in the rehearsals, the film deals in various fragments with conditions and facets of temporary work and labour migration in Germany.

The Russian island Sakhalin lies 8000 km to the east of Moscow. Every summer, with state support, it hosts a military-patriotic camp for kids from the region. The children are being trained in patriotism and armed combat, backed by lessons of Russian orthodox tradition. In Summer 2015, due to the 70th anniversary of the victory of the soviet army in WWII, the camp takes part in reconstruction of a historic battle, where the kids take on the roles of soldiers. The documentary follows the children in their daily training until the final performance.

A Russian teacher criticizes the Russian invasion of Ukraine in class and is denounced by a pupil. After fleeing, she re-enacts the incident with her Berlin class.

A body cam moves through different rooms, shifting between various roles from one space to another: from a police officer patrolling a red-light district in Geneva, to an imaginary war theater, to a private living room, and to the observation of a virtual reality experiment on violence in a psychology laboratory.

In Caazapá, the “city of magic and legends”, two Paraguayan students are searching for happiness, gold and a magic bird. Their European dropout neighbours are hoping for freedom, healing and salvation from Armageddon. Everything has its price.
