Seventeen-year-old Sota from the vibrant Phnom Penh, is sent to a quiet rural town to finish high school. Struggling to fit in, she feels adrift, until she meets Viphu, a kind-hearted boy whose determination to uplift his community sparks a bond neither expected. Together they discover friendship and love. But as graduation nears, ambition and circumstance begin to pull them apart. Misunderstandings deepen, silence grows, and their paths diverge. Yet even as distance separates them, a question lingers: is their story truly over, or only waiting to begin again?

A Fistful of Pebbles won the 3rd prize in the SEA Tropfest Film Festival 2015. The story is about a mysterious man who finds himself in the muddy monsoon in a village terrorized by a local gangster. When he’s unwittingly drawn into the village’s problem and the beautiful daughter of the village Chief is about to be taken, the hero takes matters into his own hands… with a fistful of pebbles.
