Annemarie Vandeputte

Born in Amsterdam in 1943, Paul, a Jewish man, attempts to locate his twin brother (or perhaps his alter ego), who was abducted forty years ago and sent to a Nazi concentration camp. As he searches, he becomes increasingly immersed in the story of his life, as well as in an analysis of post-war Jewish identity.

In a small port town, Hilde runs a sailor's bar to support her young son, Stijn. Years after abandoning them for a wandering lifestyle, the boy's father, Paul , suddenly returns. His reappearance disrupts the stable, comforting life Hilde has built with her new partner, Guy .As Paul tries to re-seduce Hilde, a bitter love triangle forms. Old psychological wounds reopen, and intense conflicts erupt directly in front of their child. Distressed by the emotional cruelty of these adult problems, young Stijn decides to step in and actively attempts to repair the broken relationships around him.
