Ulf Breistrand

Offshore is a Norwegian soap opera. It is set on the oil platform 'Huldra' in the North Sea. We follow the employees and their, at times, difficult relationships both at work and in the spare time. It originally aired on NRK1 from 8 September 1996 to 28 November 1999.

The series is about police investigators in Greenland police and the assignments they receive. Every day they face new challenges that affect them differently. These consist of inspector Jan Erik Holm, Hassan Mohammed Arif Osman, Trond Olsen and Holms ex-wife Cecilie Melvold. The series paints a somewhat grim picture of Oslo, it is a place where no one is safe, where nobody is above threats and blackmail. Even policemen are subjected to harassment.

Sverre Fjeld is a young police officer caught between the law and his own conscience. Sverre is fresh out of the police academy and about to get married to his longtime girlfriend. As he takes his first job in Olso, a chance meeting with a young single mother leads to a larger web of dirty money, white lies, drugs, corruption and clandestine liaisons.

Is someone really smuggling drugs in our little town? A couple of kids helps the police, without the police's knowing, and is getting themselves into trouble.
