In Lodz, during the 1990s, investigative detectives work to unravel the mystery of a dark network of connections between emergency medical workers and funeral home owners, a scheme that led to the deaths of many patients.

The film is an intimate portrait of a Father Adam Boniecki. It shows a priest, aged 85, who can always find time for a meaningful conversation and, simultaneously, remains torn between his faith and concern about the condition of the contemporary Church, in particular in Poland.

Empty shelves, trading cards and chickens sold in a shoe store. This is Polish everyday life from over four decades ago. Although the starting point is the moment of introduction of martial law, thanks to selected recordings we go back in time by 16 months and 12 days in order to better understand the mood at that time and the complexity of the processes that led to the decision of December 13, 1981.
