'Purple Smoke' tells the complex story of Lithuanian Jew Jozef, partisan commander Vlad and their two beloved Janes.

Matas returns to his neighborhood in Vilnius (Lithuania) after fleeing the war in Ukraine. He finds his wife and the friends he left behind when he joined the conflict.

Gustas acts strangely, begs to be woken up — as if trying to escape a dream. Gustas calls his sister — no answer. He and his friends find themselves in an underground club. Music hypnotizes Gustas. Later, Gustas returns to his home. In bed lies his sister’s lifeless body. Gustas calmly says: “Don’t worry. It’s just a dream.”

A young school graduate doesn't study yet. All his life consists now are parties and DJing. He lives away from his parents wanting an independent life where he needs no one's help when one day the power in his dorm goes out.

Danielius is just a simple man in today’s world. He tries to find his purpose in the society while using old masculine myths. Inevitably he finds himself in absurd situations.
