Manju, once aspiring to become a Catholic priest, is pulled into the violent underworld after his uncle's murder. Meanwhile, Lucky, a gangster turned political enforcer, rises to power by serving a powerful minister. As both work under rival ministers in the same political party, their clash over control of the underworld sparks a deadly conflict amid an escalating national crisis.

Malan is a jobless 25 year-old youth who spends his days playing cricket with friends. He suffers from an irrational fear of ghosts and retreats to the safety of his home after sunset. His fear is so great he prefers to sleep with his widowed mother Geetha and have her accompany him to the bathroom at night, and also at the eating time. This creates major annoyance in the household, including Malan's brother Gamini, sister-in-law Nirmala and their children.

Kimbulapitiya, is ambitious and wants to become an MP, he likes Roopika his boarding master's daughter. But Roopika likes Bandu. As his mother does not approve his friendship with Roopika, Bandu disguises himself as a woman and comes to work there as a housemaid to get her consent.
