A small poor family in a remote village at dry zone who faced a series of miseries due to a wrong news report published in the national media stating that their son is involved in a suicide bomb blast carried by L.T.T.E terrorists.

The story revolves around the match-maker Mangala Jaya (Vijaya), who is a poor, but kind hearted person with a single daughter. A series of hilarious incidents went through the plot, and though he is a match-maker, he fails to find a good boy to his young daughter. At last, his daughter was able to find the soul mate.

Two children discovered a rare power to see demons and spirits. They manage to communicate and befriend the demon which has a stick that gives anything you wish.

Samath's humble and patient demeanor is also highlighted in the movie and contrasts vehemently with the sense of entitlement we see in children educated in major cities.
