In the mountains of Madrid, Spain, a railway track on an abandoned bridge and a poem erased from the wall of a ruined building reveal a deliberately silenced story: the system established by Franco's dictatorship after the civil war (1936-39) that allowed hundreds of companies to use thousands of convicted Republicans as slave labor.

The story of the more than nine thousand Spaniards who were interned in the Nazi concentration camps, through the testimony of a group of survivors who tell what life and death were like in Mauthausen, Auschwitz, Buchenwald and Ravensbrück.

Laura and Carlos have a date. It begins as a pleasant encounter but ends violently. Laura, unable to accept what happened, faces the incomprehension of those around her.
