When a Dalit wins the elections for mayor in his small village in northeastern India, deadly rioting forces an impoverished couple to escape to Calcutta where they can hopefully find work. Instead, they end up sleeping on the streets until they have a chance at earning a little income -- a man has asked them to take his herd of pigs across a fast-moving river. The current is dangerous, and worse, the wife is pregnant and this would not be an easy task even if she were not. Undaunted and desperate, the couple accept the job and enter the river to face their destiny.

Set in the holy city of Benares, this is the second film about the detective Feluda, who goes on a holiday with his cousin, Topshe, and his friend, Lalmohan Ganguly. But the theft of a priceless deity of Lord Ganesh (the Elephant God) from a local household forces him to investigate.

Politician Priyanath forces Sunita for prostitution. She is abducted by the gangster Ranjan, but latter involves and falls in love with Sujit. Sujit, just recovered from mental breakdown also involves with Sunita. While Sunita is going to marry Sujit, Ranjan kills Sunita.

Kakoli and Sukanto meet in a library reading room. They gradually grow closer to each other and start meeting frequently. One day, she visits Sukanto at his home and her appearance moves everyone in his family. Sukanto's mother wants them to marry but Kakoli's parents refuse the proposal. So, Kakoli leaves the home of her father and begins working as a receptionist. However, misunderstandings soon develop between her and Sukanto.

In the early 1900s, Nikhilesh, a wealthy Westernized Hindu in colonial East Bengal, feels compelled to test the love of his wife, Bimala. He introduces her to his friend Sandip, a politician agitating against British rule, and Bimala is equally taken with both Sandip's anti-colonial fervor and the man himself. Personal and political tensions subsequently flare as the now assertive Bimala has to make a crucial decision.

Asadharan is the story of Jagabandhu, a man who is always eager to help people. He doesn't even think of his well-being in his efforts to do so. The district's magistrate asks him to help him and reveals the corrupt government officials. Jagabandhu falsely declares his death, hoping to get financial help and the support of the people. No one turns up for his funeral, and he is disheartened. He reveals the corrupt people and leaves his district forever.

The film is about a woman belonging to nomadic tribe from Andhra Pradesh, known as crow hunters, who elopes and moves to south Bengal and makes a living by occult practices. It deals with the issue of exploitation of tribal people by the deceitful landlord.
