
Isaías Badilla
Acting
Biography
Isaías Badilla is a Costa Rican actor and filmmaker based in New York. He trained at the Taller Nacional de Teatro in Costa Rica and the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. As an actor, he has appeared in films that have screened at international festivals including the Tribeca Festival (world premiere), the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival (Short Film Market Picks), the Festival de Málaga, the Austin Film Festival, and the Miami Film Festival, where the film received the Best International Short Film award, among others. His theatre credits include work with the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, Teatro LATEA, The Tank, and the American Theater of Actors. Internationally, he appeared as Connor Murphy in Querido Evan (Dear Evan Hansen). In 2024, he co-founded Purple Duck LLC, an independent production company through which he develops, writes, and directs film projects, including a recent 16mm piece exploring the experiences of immigrant artists in New York City.
