The story follows the Castaño Gil family, a prosperous cattle ranching family marked by the kidnapping and murder of patriarch José Castaño by the guerrilla. This event triggers the decision of brothers Fidel, Vicente, and Carlos to form a self-defense army to fight the guerrillas, intensifying the armed conflict in Colombia. However, what seemed like a unified struggle is threatened by betrayal.

In a small Catholic village, the community stands against the local priest when the latter refuses to offer a funeral mass for a suicide victim. In reprisal, the priest denies the sacraments to the entire town, until the family of the deceased remove the body from the catholic graveyard.

Antonio tries to show his friend Carlos that his wife cheats on him. As he tries to make his friends see the truth, a number of different people and funny situations come up.

Two taxi driver friends make a promise to the Virgin of Carmen: if Colombia qualifies for the 2014 World Cup, they’ll travel to Brazil to cheer for their team. When the miracle comes true, they must find a way to raise the money and make their dream a reality.
