Eva is 19 years old and lives in a small town. One night she causes an accident in which a woman loses her life. Eva, terrified, runs away and no one learns of the dynamics of the accident, not even Bruno, a 45-year-old French man who is the victim's husband. Overcome with guilt, Eva begins to date Bruno while hiding her true identity from him, in a relationship that will lead them to free themselves from their suffering.

A journey through three distant cultures, retracing the steps that give rise to the breath of life: its primeval discovery, the circularity of breathing, the harmony of song, the colour of each single voice and the connection with the innermost part of the self.

Daniel Kemény returns twenty years later to the place of his childhood, the village of Pietrapaola in Calabria. In search of lost time, the filmmaker collects musical accounts, brings together their protagonists and gives these memories a new life, thus playing the generous transmitter who helps keep alive the oral history of a world whose popular traditions are dying off.
