A work of Valle-Inclán, the story takes place in Galicia in the early twentieth century. To escape poverty, the wife of a sacristan uses a hydrocephalic child as a sideshow attraction. This causes a confrontation with her sister-in-law.

An intimate documentary portrait of an exceptional couple who live in a suburb of Montevideo: Julia, a 65-year-old transsexual whose new gender identity has finally been recognised (after twelve years) by the Uruguayan state, and Ignacio, her lover, a former construction worker with a troubled past. Inseparable for 20 years, the couple are now preparing for marriage. Aldo Garay’s camera follows Julia and Ignacio’s joys and worries, patiently revealing the sources of the strength of their relationship.

Based on the play of the same name, the film features Siamese twins Annie and Dani, who face physical separation in an act that is as surgical as it is existential. Willie, another brother who has to operate on them, confesses his desire to be a Siamese and asks to sew himself to one of them. The tensions and obsessions of the cast become entangled with the fantastic fiction; meanwhile, the main location threatens to collapse.

It has often been said that Uruguay has no remaining indigenous population. Roberto and Monica, who are two charrua descendants, vindicate their heritage and make us look back into the past to question the present. In a society that denies part of their origins, the quest for identity becomes a challenge.

Together with their other companions at the Putaendo Psychiatric Hospital, they share friendship and life. They dream, form sides, fight and also love each other. They live maintaining the hope of leaving the place that for many decades has made them invisible from everything. Will their love be able to transform the look?

These attend launching parties, inaugurations and all other sorts of events within the uruguayan press with the purpose of free eating. Under a, supposedly, "journalistic patent", their appearance goes unnoticed by most attending these events, except for the press teams consisting of reporters, camera men and drivers or assistants who clearly recognize them and reject their presence.
