A professional wrestling television program produced by the World Wrestling Federation banner on NBC airing in place of Saturday Night Live. The series was made up entirely of star vs. star bouts in a time when weekly programming consisted primarily of established stars dominating enhancement talent.

The phrase Saturday Night s Main Event means the biggest WWE Superstars of the 80s and 90s fighting memorable battles along with humorous and unique vignettes. For the first time ever, the greatest matches in the 18-year history of the event come to DVD with The Best of Saturday Night s Main Event. This 3-disc set includes more than 30 matches, as well as humorous vignettes, interviews, and Superstar recollections of what Saturday Night s Main Event meant to them.

Vengeance (2006) was a PPV which took place on June 25, 2006 at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was the sixth annual Vengeance event. The event starred wrestlers from the Raw brand. The card featured two main events which resulted in Rob Van Dam defending the WWE Championship against Edge and D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) fighting the Spirit Squad (Kenny, Johnny, Mitch, Nicky, and Mikey) in a 5-on-2 Handicap match. One bout was featured on the undercard. In which John Cena competed against Sabu in an Extreme lumberjack match, which featured superstars from the Raw and ECW brands at ringside.

SummerSlam (2006) was the nineteenth annual SummerSlam PPV. It took place on August 20, 2006 at the TD Banknorth Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, and featured performers from the Raw, SmackDown!, and ECW brands. This marked the first inter-brand pay-per-view to feature the ECW brand. The main match on the Raw brand was Edge versus John Cena for the WWE Championship. The featured match on the SmackDown! brand was King Booker versus Batista for the World Heavyweight Championship. The primary match on the ECW brand was The Big Show versus Sabu in an Extreme rules match for the ECW World Championship. The featured matches on the undercard included D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels) versus Vince and Shane McMahon) and Hulk Hogan versus Randy Orton.

Vengeance (2003) was a PPV presented by Eidos Interactive's Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness blockbuster, which took place on July 27, 2003 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. It was the third annual Vengeance event and starred wrestlers from the SmackDown brand. The main event was a No DQ Triple Threat match for the WWE Championship, in which WWE Champion Brock Lesnar defended the title against Kurt Angle and The Big Show. Two featured bouts were scheduled on the undercard. In a singles match WWE Chairman Vince McMahon fought Zach Gowen and The Undertaker fought John Cena. Vengeance had an attendance of approximately 9,500 and received about 322,000 pay-per-view buys. This event helped WWE increase its pay-per-view revenue by $6.2 million from the previous year.

For WWE and Raw, 2006 can best be described as "The Year of the Degenerate."
