Brazil, 1961. In the underground of the Piratini Palace, the governor of Rio Grande do Sul, Leonel Brizola, awaits a bombing by the Brazilian armed forces. The country is on the verge of a civil war, following the resignation of president Jânio Quadros and the movement to keep vice-president João Goulart from taking office. Using the radio transmitter from his improvised bunker, Brizola sets up the Legality movement, to ensure Goulart's right to the presidential chair. Caught in the crossfire, two brothers who are in love with the same woman unite to fight alongside Brizola.

In SOMBRA [SHADOW], inspired by Alberto Manguel's book "The Library at Night", Teatro da Pombagira talks about Censorship, of knowledge and of bodies; about repression, judgment and necropolitics, immersing the public in an environment that reveals the works which were hidden on the highest shelves, locked or even removed from circulation, whether for their queer, erotic or fanciful content. Throughout the performance, the audience can hear the whispers of excerpts from literary works that have somehow suffered from censorship, while the performers take over the space and create explicit imagery that sometimes collaborates in the staging, sometimes disorient understanding.

In a culture in which relations of repression are established over the body, the figure of the devil is constantly linked to it, whether through association with sexual freedom or through the idea of control and punishment. In view of this, the show created from the performativity in dance proposes to research the philosophical and experiential developments that this situation can generate in our society. Conceived by the Teatro da Pomba Gira Collective, Demons launches to open his sores and see power in the darkness.
